Fairfax Assisted Living Programs Mitigates ALS Cold Turkey Effects


Scientists have already established the tie-in between amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and genetics. They never expected that the role genes played in this was much bigger. A joint study by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA and Washington University in St. Louis, MO uncovered a total of 65 new mutations occurring among existing ALS patients. Of almost 400 patients in the study, these variants were present in more than a quarter of patients not known to have a family history of ALS.
